Rida Zaidi is a visual artist whose practice revolves around ceramics, illustration and design.

After getting her B Arch degree in 2019, Rida began her product design journey by working on small-scale designs, and continues to explore and grow in the area. Her practice currently focuses on clay as the main medium, which helps her find the overlap between two- and three-dimensional world-building.

She approaches her work as a form of storytelling, playing with elements that help communicate a story (character, fashion, food, furniture, environment).

While working, she frequently thinks about the connotations of the label cute and how it is often dismissed as non-serious art making.

Always drawn towards objects and the space they occupy in our lives; how we remember moments and places by the “things” that give meaning to a space. Rida explores themes of celebrating everyday life, our relationship to ourself, each other and imagination.

Her work swings between sculptural and functional objects, with a special focus on the “making” aspect of being an artist.
